Branded on her Soul - a poem by T21int - for His
love, pixiebb, 02/2005
His love sees a stone bathed in silken moonlight, It gives her pause to
think of all He's said
To think about her feelings and her love for Him, These things, and others, dance around her head
she feels herself so closely bound to her love, As though T/they're
joined in a single seamless whole
And deeper than with any kiss of fire, He is forever branded
on her soul.
His name is seared forever on her heart, in
letters raised; a statement clear and bold.
But not a mark of bondage or of ownership, They speak instead of a love that ne'er grows old.
From Him she learns so many of life's lessons, Some taught on purpose, others but implied
With Him she knows great highs and lows of feeling, Together T/they have laughed, and loved, and cried
she's learned some truths; that love can serve, that words, even on their own, can spark a fire
That distance doesn't always equal separation, And that little else aches like unfulfilled desire
she knows, now, the real freedom of belonging, And the joy that comes from giving
others smiles
The beauty and the truth love can inspire, And the power of love to bridge the
gap of miles
she tells Him of her thoughts, and of her love for Him, she says T/their love's forever, for all time
He hears her words; they echo His own feelings, And He's inspired
once again to verse and rhyme
